Science Display
Great work Room 6 on your fabulous 3D solar systems. There was literally hours of work put into this project, with planning, constructing and beautifying. The children did a lot of work at home too. A big thank you to the parents who travelled this journey with us. We couldn't have done it without your time, effort and patience!

Matariki
- Matariki is the Māori name for the cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades. It rises in mid-winter – late May or early June. For many Māori, it heralds the start of a new year. Matariki literally means the 'eyes of god' (mata ariki) or 'little eyes' (mata riki). www.teara.govt.nz/en/matariki-maori-new-year

3D Solar System
Room 6 have been taking this Term's concept "Illuminate" very seriously. They have really enjoyed finding out about our Solar System and each child has completed a detailed inquiry about a chosen planet. We visited the Star Dome Observatory a few weeks ago, which deepened our level of understanding and interest.
Here we are creating our 3D Solar Systems ready for the Science Display in Week 11. The children planned their design brief very carefully and were very specific about what materials they wanted to use. Most of the children decided to bring in things from home as well as use materials from school.
Great job Room 6!
